21.2% of 'energy power provided by sources renewable The contribution of renewable Italian power budget of 2009 according to the GSE
Renewables accounted for 21.2% to the electricity demand of the country. In 2009, power plants using renewable sources have reached the total capacity of 26.5 GW (+11.1% over the previous year) and the gross production of 69.3 TWh (+19.2%).
These data contained in the Budget of the Italian electricity 2009 ", published by the Manager of Energy Services (GSE), which communicates the share of renewable sources to help meet the needs nazionale.Secondo GSE in 2009, electricity demand on the network in Italy was equal to 320.3 TWh, about 6% less than last year. Clearly, the economic crisis has interrupted the trend di crescita dei consumi elettrici.
Le fonti fossili continue to provide the main contribution to meeting electricity demand (65%), followed by renewables (21%) and net imports (14%). Analyzing the only plants fueled by renewable sources by the end of 2009, the installed power in Italy amounted to 26,519 MW, 11% higher than last year. While the predominant source continues to be that hydro, the largest contribution to the growth of the power comes from wind power.
continue to grow the photovoltaic the national territory: in 2009 the number and the installed capacity more than doubled over the previous year, reaching the threshold of 71,288 plants for 1,144 MW.
A significant contribution also comes from new plants fueled with biomass and waste , whose installed capacity grew by 30%, rising from 1,555 MW in 2008 to 2,018 MW in 2009.
The gross production of electricity from renewable sources in 2009 amounted to 69,330 GWh, 19% higher than last year. Much of this growth (67%) is explained by the increase in hydropower production, which reaches 49,138 GWh (+18% compared to 2008) due to the favorable conditions of water availability recorded last year. Increasingly important is the contribution from the production of wind farms and that plants fed with biomass and waste. This phenomenon demonstrates the structural variation found in composition of domestic production: only 10 years earlier, in 2000, hydropower accounted for 87% of the total production from renewable energy sources, a figure which in 2009 fell to 71%.
Finally, rising from 16.5% to 20.8% the cost of production from renewable energy sources compared to gross domestic consumption, because of the positive change in the contribution of renewables and the reduction in electricity demand.
